The Lord has been giving me this word for His daughters: Return to your first love. The time when you were so excited to spend time with Jesus. The time when you couldn't wait to hear what He had to say. The time when all you wanted was to be in His presence and know Him more. "Lord, reveal yourself to me." "Lord, who are you?" You were so excited to seek God for His will for your life and to know the plans He has for you. What happened? Where have you gone?
Sometimes we think that because we are going through the motions we're right with God, but it's become a religious checklist rather than intimacy with Jesus. You're living your life and just checking off the boxes. I read my bible, I prayed, I went to church on Sunday, I even served on Sunday. But your heart is far from Him. You've stopped spending time in His presence. You've stopped seeking Him for His will. You're no longer abiding.
Matthew 7:21-23 says, (I'm paraphrasing here) Many will say to me, "Lord Lord, we did all these things in your name". And His response was, "I never knew you; depart from Me." We were never called to do things FOR Him. It was always about doing things WITH Him. This life is not about completing a religious checklist. It's about intimacy with The Lord. Walking WITH God. Jesus said, "Apart from me you can do nothing." He said, "Abide in me." We are called to abide in the presence of the Lord. To sit at His feet and be with Him. Daughter, when did you depart from that?
The Lord is calling you to Remember your first love, Repent for walking away, and Return to the old ways. The place of seeking, the place of abiding, the place of delighting in The Lord. The place where you were so excited about Jesus and getting to walk with Him.
Daughter, He's calling you back home. His heart is for you. He loves you. His desire is to be close to you. The Lord desires for you to long for Him again. To love Him and desire Him with all your heart.
Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
John 15: 4-11
4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. 9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
Revelation 2: 4-5
4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
