Your family may have eaten a certain way for generations. It may have become part of your culture over the years—but we are not of this world. We are citizens of Heaven, and our culture is Kingdom culture. We are commanded not to conform to this world or its ways.

When you understand that Satan desires to gain a foothold in your life—and that he often uses things passed down through bloodlines—you begin to see things differently. You can view it through the lens of the flesh and chalk it up to culture, or you can look at it through a spiritual, eternal lens and recognize that generational curses can be broken when you choose to prioritize God’s ways and live for His Kingdom rather than conforming to the world’s.

Satan doesn’t need to influence every person individually. He influences one person in a bloodline, and they pass those ways to their children. Often it's through habits and lifestyle. Over time, those patterns and habits become “culture,” and we accept them as normal simply because they’re all we’ve ever known.

But as followers of Christ, it’s our responsibility to be the chain breakers. We must take a stand against the things that have held our families captive for generations. Being the first is hard. It’s challenging to be the one who chooses a different path. We may face backlash from our own families, but freedom—for ourselves and for future generations—requires us to walk that narrow road.

Being holy, consecrated, and set apart for the Lord is not easy. It requires dying to ourselves daily. It’s not enough to simply be saved; we are called to be priests so that God’s will can be manifested on the earth.
