It can be discouraging to not see results, but the Bible tells us that in due season we will reap if we don't give up.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Proverbs tells us: In all labor there is profit. In other words, hard work pays off. God rejoices to see a thing begin. Eating healthy is never a waste. Exercising is never a waste. You will see results if you keep going and don't give up.
If you've done things a certain way for years—maybe even your whole life—it can take some time to really see the results you want to see. The important thing is to not give up. You will see results if you keep going. Also, healing isn't linear. Usually, there are setbacks and weeks when things don't seem to change, but the general trend is positive, and it takes time. Give yourself at least 6 months to really start seeing change. There will be progress along the way, but if you really want to see a difference, compare where you are at 6 months to where you were on day one.
The closer you get to a healthy body weight, the harder it is to lose weight. If you've lost weight and now you're struggling with those last few pounds, that's super common and it's normal. You have to be more strict with portions and "cheat meals" in order to get rid of those last few pounds.
As always, consistency is key. Keep eating right, keep working out, keep getting enough sleep. It will all add up and pay off. Make adjustments as you go. Gradually start lifting a little heavier, gradually start eating a little cleaner. Those small changes over time will make a big impact on your health and your weight.
I started working out my shoulders last year, and it took me about 8 months or more to see definition. Honestly, it was probably closer to 10 months, but I kept at it and now I see definition. They're still not where I want them, but I see real improvement now. If you've been working out for a while or eating better for a while and you're still not where you want to be, don't give up! Keep going! It will pay off.
